We have kept the entry fees the same in order to support the teams – we KNOW how hard you have to work to raise your funds!
Entry Fees are as follows (Schools registering multiple bots will be given a discount - see below):
Large Class - 120-lb. weight limit:
Registering one bot: $500
Registering two bots: $1,000 ($500 each)
Registering over two bots: $1,000 for the first two bots, $250 each additional bot
Mini Class - 15-lb. weight limit:
Registering one bot: $250
Registering two bots: $500 ($250 each)
Registering over two bots: $500 for the first two bots, $125 each additional bot
TableTop Class - 20-lb. weight limit:
Registering one bot: $100
Registering two bots: $200 ($100 each)
Registering over two bots: $200 for the first two bots, $50 each additional bot
IMPORTANT: Entry fee discounts are given on a per Class Basis. For example, If your QYO enters 3 Large Class bots and 2 Mini Class bots the total entrance fee is: ((500 + 500 + 250) + (250 + 250)) = $1,750.00

BotsIQ competitions are open to Middle and High School Students ranging from 11 to 18 years of age in the High School Division. Post Secondary students are eligible to compete in the College Division. Any questions please contact Nola Garcia at nola@botsiq.org
To learn how to implement BotsIQ in your school or college please email BotsIQ National Education Director Nola Garcia at nola@botsiq.org
NOTE: Robots must be specifically created for the BotsIQ program. Please review all BBIQ Rules and Regulations prior to designing/building any BBIQ Bot.

BotsIQ is transitioning from IFI radio systems to Spektrum DSM Controllers. Therefore we have updated the BotsIQ Technical Regulations as follows:
FOR LARGE CLASS ROBOTS
3.0 REMOTE CONTROL
3.1 SPEKTRUM DSM CONTROLLERS
BotsIQ strongly recommends using the Spektrum DX6 or DX7 controller
with the BR6000 receiver. The DX6 or DX7 transmitter can be used
only with the BR6000 receiver; a BotsIQ robot is specifically not
allowed to use the AR7000 receiver.
3.2 IFI ROBOTICS CONTROLLERS
BotsIQ Large Class robots can use the robot remote control systems
by IFI Robotics (IFI).
Note: If an IFI system is used, a backup battery system for the
transmitter is recommended.
3.3 OTHER CONTROLLERS
For calendar year 2008 only, non-Spektrum, non-IFI controllers may
be approved by BotsIQ on a case-by-case basis. Any such equipment must:
a. Be commercially-available, not custom-built.
b. Comply with all applicable FCC regulations for ground-vehicle control.
c. Have a fail-safe method that fully meets the requirements of
section 3.4.4 below.
Note: Impound procedures will be applied to any non-Spektrum,
non-IFI controllers. Refer to the BotsIQ Tournament Rules and
Procedures document for more information.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOR MINI CLASS ROBOTS
3.0 REMOTE CONTROL
3.2 Spektrum DSM Controllers
BotsIQ strongly recommends using the Spektrum DX6 or DX7 controller
with the BR6000 receiver. The DX6 or DX7 transmitter can be used only
with the BR6000 receiver; a BotsIQ robot is specifically not allowed
to use the AR7000 receiver.
3.3 IFI Robotics Controllers
BotsIQ Mini Class robots can use the robot remote control systems by
IFI Robotics (IFI).
Note: If an IFI system is used, a backup battery system for the
transmitter is recommended.
3.4 Crystal-Based Radio Control Equipment
Legacy crystal-based Radio Control (R/C) equipment can be used on a
Mini Class BotsIQ robot, subject to several requirements.
3.4.1 Control Methods
Crystal-based R/C control methods are subject to the following:
a. Amplitude Modulated (AM) R/C equipment is not allowed.
b. Pulse-Code Modulation (FM/PCM) equipment is recommended.
However, FM Pulse-Position Modulation (FM/PPM) and Intelligent Pulse
Decoding (FM/IPD) R/C equipment may be used.
3.4.2 Operating Frequencies
Due to FCC rules and practical operational requirements:
a. Non-narrow-band (pre-1991) R/C systems are not allowed.
b. R/C equipment operating in the (aircraft) 72 MHz band is
not allowed.
c. Only ground R/C frequencies (27, 40, 50, 53 and 75 MHz bands)
may be used.
d. The R/C equipment has to allow for the changing of frequency
crystals, unless a frequency-synthesized system is used.
For each Transmitter/Receiver pair, each Team must have two or
more sets of crystals that allow operation on at least two
different frequencies.
3.4.3 Simultaneous Frequencies
A single BotsIQ robot or MultiBot cluster using crystal-based R/C
equipment can simultaneously use at most two R/C frequencies for control.
If two frequencies are used simultaneously, then the Team must have an
additional two sets of crystals that operate at frequencies different
than the other sets of crystals.
Note: Impound procedures will be applied to any non-Spektrum,
non-IFI controllers. Refer to the BotsIQ Tournament Rules and
Procedures document for more information.
IMPORTANT: Teams using single channel radio systems MUST bring an alternate crystal set(s) to the competition (to minimize potential radio conflicts)
